LONDON BRANCH OF NIGERIAN SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS INAUGURATED

London, where the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) birthed its activism in 1958 has become the latest Branch of the Association.

By its structure, the NSE makes itself relevant to society through its branches while it develops its members via programs of its Divisions and Institutions.

President, Engr. Adekunle Mokuolu, who inaugurated the new Branch yesterday at Kesington Building, Imperial College, London, charged members of the branch to use their wealth of experience for the benefit of all.

He also sought the cooperation of all engineers in the implementation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Executive Order 5 and to use it to support his agenda of Rural Community Development.

Chairman of the Branch, Engr. Dr. Sunday Popoola pledged to mount relevant seminars, workshops and mentorship programs for young engineers as well as develop rapport with UK based engineering organisations.

A highlight of attendance was the presence of Engr Solomon Aiwerioba whose father late Engr G.O.Aiwerioba and six other Nigerian engineers founded the Association in London sixty years ago. A leading light of the Association and Past President, Engr Khalil Inuwa was also present.

Goodwill messages were presented by top UK personalities such as; Project Director, Low Carbon Eng. LTD, Dr. Chet Biliyok; CBE; Managing Director Group Digital Railway, Mr David Waboso; Engineering Consultant UK, Dr. Bernard Obika; Ag. GD/CEO Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Nigeria, Engr. Chidi Izuwah Snr.

Others were President Engineering Forum of Nigeria (EFN) UK, Engr. B. Douglas; Past President Engineering Forum of Nigeria, Engr. Tony Ajala; Former Mayor of Lambeth Council, Mr. Ade Aminu; President Africa Youths and University of Sunderland Consultant, Dr Larry Jones Esan; Arch. Sandra Reski, and Engr Dr Patricia Opene-Odili, a Past President of Nigerian Women Engineers.
