Council of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering has announced names of 8 of its Fellows who will receive Life Achievement Awards at a ceremony in Lagos on June 24, 2021.
The event, a hybrid of physical and virtual assembly, will hold at the University of Lagos. Engr Dr Olumide Phillips, Chairman Promaco Associates ltd., is one of the awardees. Others are Engr. James Olabode Karonwi Ajayi, Engr. Dr. Samuel Nnaemeka Anyakora, Engr. Dr. Harold Olusegun Demuren, Engr. Egbert Ulogo Imomoh, Engr. Yusuf Olanrewaju Sagaya, Engr. Prof. Alfred Babatunde Olaiya Soboyejo, and Engr. Gregs G. Thomopulos.

Ten distinguished engineers who Council of the Academy found worthy will be inducted into its fellowship at the event. They are: Engr. Prof. Ademola Bello ADISA; Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Osikhuemeh ALUYOR; Engr. Felix ATUME; Engr. Dr. Daniel Babasehinde AYO; Engr. Prof. Isaac Nathaniel ITODO; Engr. Prof. Daniel Oray Nnamdi OBIKWELU; Engr. Olumuyiwa Bayo OLAREWAJU-ALO; Engr. Mustafa Balarabe SHEHU; Engr. Kayode SOTE; and Engr. Prof. Moses Oludayo TADE.
The highlight of the June 24 ceremony is an Annual Academy Lecture to be delivered by Prof Ayo Francis Ogunye, a Past President of the Academy. His lecture topic is “Locating Engineering and Technology in Government Policy Framework for Growth and Development”.
