The woman popularly called ‘everybody’s grandmother’ passed on yesterday, two days after declining further medical treatment after a series of hospitalisations. She was 92.
Barbara Bush was the second American to be both wife and mother of American Presidents having been wife to George H. W. Bush (41st) and mother of George W. Bush (43rd).
A very remarkable personality, in 2013, when asked about the prospect of whether Jeb Bush, her Florida Governor son (43rd) should again run for president, she replied: “We’ve had enough Bushes” in the White House.
