Tragedy struck the Nigerian engineering family early hours of yesterday as one of its finest, Engr Khaleel Ibrahim Inuwa passed.
Unarguably one of the most respected among engineers of his generation, the deceased spent three days of the past week in participating in video conference engagements on the on going mobilisation of local initiatives and engineering responses to current COVID-19 pandemic under the auspices of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering.
He died and was buried in Kano in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
The Nigerian Academy of Engineering posted an obituary announcement. In it, it says:

“With very heavy hearts but with total submission to the will and decision of Almighty Allah, we announce the passing to eternity of Engr Khaleel Ibrahim Inuwa, FAEng, FNSE, OFR, Technical Secretary of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering.
The indefatigable Engineer died in his home in Kano and has been burried in accordance to Islamic injunctions.
His last professional engagement was his active participation at the video-conference meeting of the Executive Committee last Thursday May 7, 2020.
Nigerian Engineering Family has lost one of us that is irreplaceable. Engr Inuwa was Past President, Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE., Past President Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN., Technical Secretary Nigerian Academy of Engineering, NAEng., and Vice-President, Nigerian Institute of Management.

Engr Ibrahim Khaleel Inuwa suddenly left his professional colleagues and friends without any farewell smile, characteristic of him.
He will be remembered for remarkable contributions to the development and advancement of engineering profession in Nigeria.
