I have just stumbled on a tweet of Mr DAPO ABIODUN APC’s gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State wherein he announced his choice of a Running Mate in ENGR MRS NOIMOT SALAKO-OYEDELE.

For his choice, I, Engr Titi Omo-Ettu, hereby dedicate my personal resources to the campaign effort of Prince Dr DAPO ABIODUN and indeed of APC in OGUN, My STATE.

If politicians show depth in making their choices then those of us who are not card carrying members of their collective will be available to throw in our widows might into the fray to support their endeavour in rescuing society.

I have never met Mr Dapo Abiodun but I know Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele very well. She was elected along with me and nine others to pilot the affairs of the UNILAG Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association early this year. She is serving as Treasurer while I Chair the Executive Committee.

In 279 days of that journey, I have seen in that young lady the ASSET that a brilliant, rounded engineer can bring to the table when it comes to planning, strategising, dedicating, and committing to a cause. I must have woken up that Engineer more than 100 times with early WhatsApp messages asking that she advised me on one issue or the other. I have enjoyed every bit of her response, her sound mind, her designs and her strategies. You can then imagine how I felt when I read Mr Dapo Abiodun’s tweet a moment ago.

I have gone profiling Noimot using GoogleSearch as tool.

I understand the choice of Mrs Salako-Oyedele was made by the leaders, elders and stakeholders of the party after dispassionate deliberations, detailed screening of various qualified individuals that were hitherto put forward for the position, and a voting process by all stakeholders present at the meeting venue.

52 year old Noimot Salako Oyedele is a multi-talented professional with over 30 years of proven records of experience in Consulting, Contracting and Real Estate Sectors. A smart and enthusiastic individual with broad range of knowledge and experience in developing and implementing strategies and in managing projects from inception through to completion, she is currently Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Glenwood Property Development Company Limited.

She is former General Manager (Business Development)/Acting Managing Director, GRENADINES HOMES LIMITED, she has also served as Graduate Engineer/ Project Manager at OVE ARUP & PARTNERS, LONDON, UK.

Noimot holds a Masters degree in Public Health Engineering from the Imperial College of Science & Technology London, UK, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos.

An Awori woman from Ado Odo Ota local Government of Ogun state, Noimot is the daughter of late Professor Lateef A. Salako who served Ogun State as Chairman, Ogun State Scholarship Board and Chairman Ogun State University Teaching Hospital Board of Management.

Prof Salako himself served as Special Adviser to the then Minister of Health, Prof. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti and was Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research for seven years and for a further three years, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Vaccine Research Laboratories, Yaba.

As I said earlier, Noimot is the Treasurer of UNILAGFEAA.

I wish APC a good Campaign season and success at the polls in my State.
